Recently, Shi Yuanyuan, Chairman and General Manager of Shenzhen Cell Valley Group, led a delegation including Han Han (Head of the Shandong Region), Zhu Wenxiang (Senior R&D Scientist), Sun Rui (Head of Business Development), and Wu Hua (Project Manager) on an invited visit to the Shandong Provincial Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital. They held a symposium with Zheng Shicun, Secretary of the Hospital Party Committee; Liang Bangling, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President; Zhang Peng, Director of the Science and Education Department; and heads of relevant departments. The discussions focused deeply on the layout of cell therapy projects and clinical translation applications in the field of maternal and child health, particularly against the backdrop of the implementation of State Council Order No. 818.

During the exchange meeting, Professor Shi Yuanyuan provided a systematic interpretation of the compliant development pathways, key priorities for clinical translation, and implementation directions in the field of cell therapy, aligning with the policy requirements of Order No. 818. Focusing on clinical needs in maternal and child healthcare, he conducted an in-depth analysis on how to advance cell therapy projects in a standardized, orderly, and efficient manner, clarifying the roadmap for future cooperation between the two parties.
Subsequently, the Cell Valley team introduced the group’s comprehensive advantages in technical R&D, preparation and production, quality control, and clinical translation within the cell therapy sector. They highlighted the company’s mature experience and platform capabilities in implementing cell therapy projects. The hospital leadership expressed strong interest in Cell Valley’s technical strength, project experience, and potential for collaboration.
Building on the thematic exchange, both sides further connected with relevant hospital departments to discuss specific research and application directions for cell therapy in diseases related to women and children. They exchanged views on entry points for cooperation, implementation pathways, and technical support, preliminarily reaching consensus on multiple collaborative initiatives.
After the meeting, Professor Shi Yuanyuan and his delegation toured the NHC Key Laboratory of Maternal and Fetal Medicine at Shandong Provincial Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital. They gained a deep understanding of the hospital’s foundations and strengths in maternal and child medical research and related technical platform construction, further discussing future directions for collaboration.

Secretary Zheng Shicun stated that Shandong Provincial Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital possesses profound clinical and scientific research accumulation in women’s and children’s health, while Shenzhen Cell Valley holds significant advantages in cell therapy technology R&D, clinical translation, and industrialization services. He noted that the foundation for cooperation is solid and the prospects are broad. Looking ahead, both parties will leverage the policy opportunities presented by Order No. 818 to establish a normalized communication mechanism, accelerate the landing of cooperative projects, and jointly explore innovative applications of cell therapy technologies in women’s and children’s health, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the maternal and child health sector.
